From Bona, sitting at 2,400 MASL in southern Ethiopia. Black honey processing means the fruit mucilage is left on during drying — somewhere between washed and natural in terms of sweetness and structure. The result is a clean, floral cup with a honeyed finish.

Alo Coffee is Tamiru Tadesse's project — former lecturer, electrical engineer, and the man whose very first Cup of Excellence submission in 2021 (from his home village in Bensa) won. He started Alo to produce exceptional coffee, empower smallholders, and future-proof cultivation. Bore and Wene are from the same family.
