Tamiru Tadesse was a lecturer and electrical engineer before coffee. He saw what was being left on the table — overlooked farms, undervalued labour, potential going nowhere. The Ethiopia Cup of Excellence in 2020 was the turning point. He and his wife Messi started Alo Coffee, named after the village of Alo in Bensa where they're from. Their very first submission, in 2021, won.

This is the Wene lot — natural process, 2400 MASL, very light filter roast. Strawberry up front, stonefruit and florals underneath. Bright and fruit-forward, the way naturals from this elevation tend to be.

Roasted 30th June. Start from day 10–14, peak around day 21–30.
